The year 2024 is over and 2025 is just around the corner. But before we start the new year, let's take a look back at the past twelve months. Because a lot has happened! From political upheavals in Berlin to the inspiring Olympic Games in Paris and the European Football Championships in Germany to the re-election of Donald Trump as President of the United States – there were many highs and lows last year.
A year full of challenges has shown how important creativity, ambition and consistency are. While other industries have stumbled, our signs continue to point to uninterrupted growth. However, all the progress we have made in 2024 is not just a milestone for us, but also a promise to our users: we will continue to work tirelessly to offer you the most secure and effective collaboration software available. In the following article, we therefore want to take a look at the highlights of the past year - and how we want to make the coming year even better than the last.
Our highlights of the year 2024
There were numerous highlights last year that we will remember for a long time to come. From new Stackfield features to successful events and new colleagues, everything was there – as a look at our personal best-of shows:
Confirmation for our commitment to data protection
We have announced it and we followed through: We received confirmation of our successfully completed C5 test certificate before the end of December! This means that we can now prove nothing less than that Stackfield fully complies with the strict BSI-criteria of the leading cloud computing standard for IT security in Germany.
But that's not all, because even before the C5 certificate, our annual ISO 27001 monitoring audit was due. However, even this appointment did not cause any cold sweat. After all, Stackfield is known for its focus on data security and compliance with the highest data protection standards for good reason. Nevertheless, we were delighted to receive a very positive feedback on our successful surveillance audit.
Things continue to look up for Stackfield
As mentioned at the beginning, we are very pleased to report that Stackfield has continued to grow this year – more customers are placing their trust in our platform than ever before. Especially in a challenging year in view of the general economic situation in Germany, we are delighted and strengthened by this trust.
With this good news, it is probably not surprising that the Stackfield team is also continuing to grow. Several new colleagues have joined us this year and are adding to our day-to-day work with their expertise and commitment.
Nevertheless, we still have vacancies that we want to fill promptly – we welcome all qualified applications! With a strong team, we can ensure that we continue to provide excellent support, fast and error-free development and innovative new products in the usual quality.
A year full of great features
Our platform continues to grow and thrive to make your work as easy and secure as possible. We can now offer our customers more features than ever before – including the biggest update in the past three years! The most significant innovations include the following new features:
- ✨ Favorites: There's even more of an overview thanks to the favorites function. A wide range of elements can be pinned to the sidebar and thus accessed even more quickly.
- 🧭 An extended navigation bar: The navigation bar of the modules now not only has many more functions, but can also be changed and customized according to your own preferences.
- 📑 Templates for tasks and subtasks: Tasks such as onboarding plans occur again and again. With the new template function, you can create these task cards in a standardized way and generate them whenever you wish.
- 📧 Email integration in end-to-end encrypted rooms: Sending work documents to Stackfield by email to continue working on them efficiently is now also possible in end-to-end encrypted rooms. This means you can also enjoy maximum security for automatic workflows.
- 👍 Organization-wide rights groups: What was first possible in individual rooms is now possible organization-wide: admins can create individual rights groups that are available in all rooms.
- 🚮 The recycle bin: With the highly requested recycle bin feature, worrying about accidentally deleting content is a thing of the past. Deleted content is collected here and can be restored over a period of 30 days with a single click.
Exciting and informative: Stackfield offers content with real value
Whether through our expert interviews, our Stackfield blog, our exhibition visits or our video content: We like to go the extra mile to present our customers, as well as all other visitors to our website, content that offers real value.
One of our highlights in 2024 was the launch of our popular webinar series (available in German) with public sector expert Silke Schiemann, in which the challenges of project work in public administration were discussed in a practical way – further dates in 2025 are already planned! And if you have missed the previous events: Don't worry, you can find the recordings of all prior webinars on our YouTube channel.
Why we are already looking forward to tomorrow
However, we don't just want to reflect on the past, as we also have our sights firmly set on the future. We have big plans for 2025! After all, our goal is still to become the market leader for productive collaboration with a focus on data protection and information security in Europe.
Data protection is becoming even more of a focus
It is a positive development in the fight for more information security: with various laws such as NIS-2, the Data Act, DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act, the EU wants to strengthen the infrastructure of the member states in the fight against data misuse. Although this means a considerable amount of additional work for many institutions and companies, it is becoming clear that the general public is also beginning to realize the impact of holes in data security. For us, this is a clear signal that we have taken the right path with our approach of processing our customers' sensitive data in accordance with the highest standards and exclusively within the EU.
It is currently still unclear how cooperation with the USA on the topic of transatlantic data protection will continue in the future. President Joe Biden has strengthened the United States' cyber security standards with his executive order in the past. However, this order could be overridden just as quickly by the re-elected Donald Trump. In his first term in office, he has already proven that data protection reforms are not exactly the focus of his political work – on the contrary. It can therefore be assumed that it will become almost impossible for data protection-sensitive industries and authorities from the EU in particular to justify the use of US tools.
Looking forward to new exciting features
Of course, we have numerous innovations for our platform in the pipeline. In addition to our ongoing updates, we have some very special attractions in store for the coming year, a few of which we can already announce:
- 🧩 Integration with MS Teams: If you use Microsoft Teams in your company in addition to Stackfield, things will be easier for you in the future. With the new Teams integration, Stackfield can be integrated directly into Teams and used to its full extent. The integration has been implemented just in time for the turn of the year and you can already set it up and try it out.
- 🎫 Improved ticketing system: We want to make working with emails in Stackfield even easier and further improve the existing options for using the platform as a ticketing system. To this end, we plan to introduce new functions and integrations over the course of the year. Our aim is to create ways to manage requests and issues clearly, track progress more easily and strengthen collaboration within the team or between departments.
- 🔨 Ongoing module improvements: Of course, we're not resting on our laurels with our existing features either. On the contrary, our developers have some exciting ideas up their sleeves on how to further refine and improve existing functions. The focus will initially be on the "Pages" module and our whiteboard.
- 🤖 AI integrations: Artificial intelligence is the hot topic right now and of course we also want to integrate the benefits that AI can offer into our tool. Initial tests are already underway, but we don't want to spoil any more details for now. But you can look forward to news soon ...
Information and insights on all channels
You can also look forward to interesting and informative Stackfield content in the coming year. Further dates for our webinar series have already been set and you can secure your place today. In the meantime, we are also working on our YouTube channel, which will grow with new content worth watching in 2025 – it's worth keeping an eye on there. For example, you have the opportunity to meet us live at the "Digital State" congress in Berlin in March – we would be delighted. And of course you can follow us on our LinkedIn and Facebook channels to stay up to date.
